英語で「解決する」に相当する単語には、solveとresolveが有りますが、この違いは何でしょうか?

resolveは「人生の悩みのように、他にも解決案はあるがその中の1つをチョイスしてゴールに導いたイメージ」です。

一方で、solveは「学校のテストのように、決まった唯一の答えを導くイメージ」です。

1.resolveが持つニュアンス

まず始めに、resolveにはいくつかの意味があります。
First of all, resolve has several meanings.

There is one meaning that is clearly closest to solve, which I will assume is the one you want to differentiate.

2.solveが持つニュアンス

一方でsolveが持つニュアンスは以下のようなものです。

あなたが何かをsolveするとき、あなたは問題に対して解決策を見つけます（そして、おそらくそれを成し遂げます）。 
When you solve something, you find (and presumably implement) a solution to it. 

solveは、その問題を成功裏に処理したことを意味し、
成功するための唯一の方法（または多くてもいくつかの方法の1つ）を見つけたことを意味します。
This means that you have dealt with it successfully, 
finding what was quite possibly the only way (or at most one of a few ways) to succeed.

resolveの例

The issue has been resolved, although none of us is happy with the final outcome.

rolveの例

その疑問は解決(solve)された。正しい回答は、全員が見える場所に掲示された。
