The difference between the present continuous and the present simple is that 
we use the present continuous for an action we are doing now, 
whereas we use the present simple for an action we do generally

現在進行形と現在形の違いは、
現在進行形は、私たちが(今まさに)現在行っていることに対して使い、
一方で、現在形は、私たちが通常行う事に対して使います。

present continuous : 現在進行形  (ex: I am speaking Japanese.)
present simple     : 現在形      (ex: I speak Japanese.)

we are doing now   : 私たちが今まさに行っている事
we do generally    : 私たちが(習慣として)普段行う事
